Crush Your Goals With Maddison

Posted on June 22, 2017 in REV Wellness

If you’re looking to advance your fitness routine, or just start a routine, I like to remind people of these 5 things:

  1. it’s important to have someone to hold you accountable
  2. invest in your training, whether it’s signing up for a package of classes, getting a personal trainer, or working with a dietitian, invest in your health!
  3. start small, then go big when it comes to goal setting and training
  4. it’s ok to fail!
  5. give yourself a rest day!

Now, let’s learn how to set some GOALS to CRUSH!

FIND YOUR MOTIVATION

Goal setting and goal achieving comes down to two things: you AND your motivation. Setting goals is the fun and easy part, but putting in the time is where you start questing if you’ll be able to achieve your goals. Find what motivates you. Your WHY is just as important as your goal. Figure it out and don’t forget it!

WHAT IS A GOAL?

A goal is achievable, measurable, and should align with your WHY.

HOW TO SET A GOAL

Start SMALL. If it’s a fitness goal and you have never exercised before this could mean that your first goal could be something as simple as taking a short walk each day.

Ready to go big? A certain mileage you want to reach in the studio? The Baltimore Marathon? Catch me after class!

Once you have achieved your goal. Make another and so on and so forth.

GETTING OFF TRACK

This is an important time for reflection. Look back at your goals and remember why you began your journey. Failure is a great way to find the spark to keep working. Don’t question your struggle, hustle through it! However, if you get off track more than a couple of times it might be a sign that you need to reassess your goals.
